The Pursuit

Being Good

Holding up the traffic
Letting other cars cut through -
And feeling warm and good inside,
Making Jesus love you -

The Pursuit

People who don't care
Just do not care.
Regardless what you do for them,
They never will care more.
Either die in poverty
Or else give up the quest
Pursuing those who
Don't intend to care.

Afterlife

You believe in god.
I know you do.
Like countless other billions
Just like you.
You wouldn't have a prayer
If it were true.

Love Games

Listening to Connie Francis,
Remembering the old -
Love games, bars and
Cigarettes and beer -
Heft up from the ocean,
Lying flat upon the beach
Of an island -
Drying in the sun -
With no wish whatever -
In spite of Iris Murdoch,
And Sartre might be right -
To try the game again -
